Museum app A physical expedition through Van Gogh museum

iPerform is an interactive smartphone application working with bluetooth transmitters called iBeacons that instead of an informative audio tour, takes you on a physical expedition through the museum, past certain works by Van Gogh. With specific assignments in the form of animated GIF's you get a physical experience of the art. On Friday, March 6th, the pilot of the app was launched and eventually turned into a dance and music improvisation in the Van Gogh museum.

This project shows how object based frequencies (using iBeacons) can create different opportunities to tell stories and new experiences inside museums or other public buildings.

iPerform is designed by WhyNot in collaboration with HearUsHere and Angela Lidderdale, sponsored by LavaLab.
